DIY medal ceremonies await stars of Tokyo Olympics
The Times says scenes of tearful athletes bowing before a dignitary to have a ribbon placed around their necks will be replaced at the Tokyo Olympics by a self-service buffet of gold, silver and bronze.
The traditional medal ceremony yesterday became a victim to pandemic rule changes which will also mean less sex and drinking amongst competitors at the Games, which starts on Friday July 23.
