Brit couple ‘barred from boarding Malta flight over Indian-made AstraZeneca jab
The Mirror says: A British couple claim they were barred from taking a flight to Malta because they had been given the Indian-manufactured AstraZeneca jab.
The retired couple say they were turned away from the flight from Manchester Airport at 3.30am on Friday because of their vaccine type.
Steve and Glenda Hardy, 64 and 63, from Hull, told The Telegraph they were devastated after being told they could not fly to the destination where they were due to visit their son – who they had not seen in more than a year.
The claims come as Brits were told as many as 5million who had unwittingly received an Indian AstraZeneca jab may not be allowed to go on holidays abroad.
Panicked holidaymakers were checking their jab’s batch number as claims emerged that the EU’s Covid passport scheme will not recognise the AstraZeneca doses made in India.
