ENGLAND V UKRAINE
England have navigated what may prove to be their most difficult test en route to the final and England fans are excited by the prospect of being back at Wembley for the July 11 final. It won’t be a stretch for England to win against the Czech Republic or Denmark in the semis – if England can bring a win back from Rome.Â
England has a clean sheet against Germany in the last 16 but could be in store for a penalty shootout – all three of England’s quarter-final appearances at the Euros have been decided by penalties.Â
This will be the first time since a 2013 friendly, that England and Ukraine will face each other – and the only time these sides have met at the Euros was in 2012, a game England won.Â
Gareth Southgate’s 26-man squad all trained on the eve of England’s Euro 2020 quarter-final against Ukraine.Â
The route to the winÂ
Quarter-finals
Saturday July 3 – vs Ukraine; kick-off 8pm (Rome)
Semi-finals
Wednesday July 7 – vs Czech Republic OR Denmark; kick-off 8pm (London)
FinalÂ
Sunday 11 July 8pm (London)
If England is still in the running, they’ll face either: Belgium, Italy, Switzerland and Spain.

PREDICTION
Germany were arguably England’s biggest threat to reaching the semi-finals and beyond and, having past that test, Gareth Southgate’s men will fancy their chances of beating Ukraine in the quarter-finals and securing a place in the last four. Predicted score: England 1 Ukraine 0 – (The Telegraph)Â
After backing Germany to dump England out of the Euros in the last-16 stage, we have certainly learned our lesson. With Ukraine set to deploy a similar system to that of Die Mannschaft, England’s three-at-the-back formation ought to come good once again.
While Shevchenko’s men deserve credit for making the last eight, it is fair to say that they have fluked it somewhat, and this time around, we are expecting England to get the job done ahead of another Wembley outing in the semi-finals. Predicted score Ukraine 0 England 2 – (Sports Mole)Â
England-Ukraine | Team News, Where To Watch
England team news
England has a team in good health with Mason Mount and Ben Chilwell now back into the main group after isolating due to “interaction” with Covid-positive player Billy Gilmour.Â
Harry Maguire missed the first two games of the tournament but has come through unscathed since. Jordan Henderson has managed to get some valuable minutes under his belt.Â
Southgate switched to a back three for the Germany game and is expected to revert back to the back four which was effective in the group stage. It’s likely one of the two right-backs who started in the Germany game – Kieran Trippier or Kyle Walker – will drop back down to the bench with a more attack-minded player coming on.Â
Mount or Jack Grealish are the likeliest next man up. Phil Foden could also return after starting against Croatia and Scotland – he rested for the final group game against the Czech Republic over the risk of suspension..Â
Kalvin Phillips, Declan Rice, Maguire and Foden are all one booking away from a suspension for any potential semi-final, which could also play into Southgate’s thinking either before or during this match.
Belgium team news
Roberto Martinez is keeping his cards close to his chest over the fitness of Eden Hazard and Kevin De Bruyne, who both picked up injuries in the round-of-16 win over Portugal.
“We are fighting against the clock to get Eden and Kevin ready. I can’t say if they will play or not, because I want to wait until the last minute to decide. We know a lot of people are waiting on news, but we can’t give any just yet.”
đź—Ł "They didn't join the group this morning."
