Euro 2020: Gareth Southgate insists England will keep playing boring football if it stays effective
The i says England manager Gareth Southgate insists his players will ignore the “groans” of supporters who remain critical of their conservative style of play despite reaching the Euro 2020 quarter-finals.
Southgate’s players were booed off the pitch several times during the group stage games at Wembley. There was even resentment bubbling before England scored two second-half goals to see off Germany in the last 16 on Tuesday.
