Serena Williams out of Wimbledon after ‘brutal’ slip on Centre Court forces tearful exit
The i says Serena Williams was forced to retire from her first-round Wimbledon match against Aliaksandra Sasnovich after suffering a seemingly innocuous slip behind the baseline.
Williams, who had emerged with heavy strapping on her right thigh before play even started, took an early break of serve in the first set but her left foot gave way mid-point and left her significantly hampered.
