Why Disney+’s Lizzie McGuire revival series has been delayed
ScreenRant says the Lizzie McGuire revival has been delayed as more trouble looms over its production. The plans for the series were announced at D23 last summer with the news of Hilary Duff and other original stars reprising their roles.
Lizzie McGuire first ran on the Disney Channel in the early 2000s before a feature film was released in 2003.
The new Disney+ revival was set to show Lizzie, now in her 30s, facing new struggles in New York City. The series was supposed to have the character return to Los Angeles for unknown reasons. The new series was initially put on hold in January citing creative differences.
But Duff is now hinting that the issues could go deeper in that the Lizzie McGuire revival isn’t family-friendly enough for Disney’s liking.

Speilberg won’t direct next Indiana Jones film
WTX News says Hollywood director Steven Spielberg has announced he won’t be directing Indiana Jones 5.
The filmmaker was at the helm of the first four movies in the franchise – the first, Raiders Of The Lost Ark was made 39 years ago.
Spielberg will be passing on the role to a younger director, in a bid to “bring a new perspective” to the story, according to Variety.
The magazine believes director James Mangold will replace him.
Spielberg, however, is set to remain as a “hands-on” producer.

‘The world should consider President Trump public enemy number one’ says actor Mark Ruffalo
WTX News says American actor Mark Ruffalo made it clear he’s not a fan of President Trump, telling Sky News: “The world should consider my president public enemy number one.”
Ruffalo is well-known for his political and environmental activism as well as his Hollywood career.
Ruffalo is promoting his latest film – Dark Waters – and thinks there are parallels to be drawn with his leader’s climate change denial.
Dark Waters, directed by Todd Haynes, tells the story of one man’s fight against chemical company DuPont – the creators of Teflon.
The company has always denied dumping toxic waste that contaminated the air, water and inhabitants of West Virginia over a period of decades.

Harvey Weinstein accusers welcome rape and sexual assault conviction
BBC News says accusers of movie producer Harvey Weinstein have welcomed the guilty verdicts on the rape and sexual assault case against the former Hollywood mogul.
Actress Rose McGowan told the BBC “this is a great day” while others said the verdict brought hope to victims that their voices would be heard.
Weinstein, 67, was convicted of third-degree rape and a first-degree criminal sexual act. But he was cleared of his most serious count of predatory sexual assault.
Weinstein faces up to 25 years in prison over the guilty verdicts relating to two women. His lawyers say he will appeal.
“I’m innocent. How can this happen in America?” Weinstein’s lawyer quoted his client as saying.

It is not clear where or when the ordeal took place.

Nick Jonas visited colleges in early Jonas Brothers years
Music-News says Nick Jonas briefly toured colleges in his early days with the Jonas Brothers.
The singer is a big baseball fan and has previously played in charity games to raise funds for good causes.
Speaking during a recent appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Nick said he was once serious about pursuing a career on the field and enrolling at Northwestern University.
“I went back in 2008 or 2009. We were on tour. We stopped in Chicago. I had dreams of going to college to study being a writer, journalist or something. And I went with my dad to visit the campus and it turned into a scene from Hard Day’s Night,” he said. “But the real dream was to try to walk on to the baseball team to play.”
