14 children among up to 22 dead in Cameroon massacre: UN
Arab News says a massacre in an anglophone region of Cameroon left up to 22 villagers dead including 14 children, the UN has said, with an opposition party blaming the killings on the army.
Armed men carried out the massacre on Friday in the village of Ntumbo in the Northwest region, James Nunan, a local official of humanitarian coordination agency OCHA, told AFP.
“Up to 22 civilians were killed, including a pregnant woman and several children,” Nunan said, adding 14 children – nine under the age of five – were among the dead.
Eleven of the children were girls, said Nunan, head of OCHA’s office for the Northwest and Southwest regions, which are home to the West African country’s large English speaking minority.

Star City Adventure: Take a sneak peek into India’s first space crew training
RT News says four astronauts chosen for India’s first manned space mission have started their training in Russia. The Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Centre has spared a few details of the secretive program with RT.
India plans to send a crew into space in late 2021 or early 2022 aboard the vehicle called Gayanyaan (Sky Vehicle) as part of its efforts to join the elite group of space-going nations.
New Dehli has taken up the issue in all seriousness and sent four carefully selected candidates to the GCTC in Star City, to learn from its vast experience in manned spaceflights.
On average, Russian cosmonauts spend five years in training before they are considered ready to become a part of a space crew. The 12-month course the Indian astronauts have just embarked on is somewhat different – and not just because it is shorter.

Iran’s Rouhani says US ‘maximum pressure’ campaign ‘has failed’, Trump doesn’t want war
Fox News says Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani said Sunday that the US’s “maximum pressure” policy aimed at isolating Iran has “failed” and he claimed President Trump doesn’t want war with Iran because it would “ruin” his reelection chances.
Rouhani said the regime would be willing to negotiate with the Trump administration if the US were to reinstate the Iranian nuclear deal — negotiated by the Obama administration — and drop crippling economic sanctions, USA Today said.
Last week, eight Senate Republicans sided with Democrats to support legislation restricting Trump’s ability to wage war with Iran.
