PM Boris Johnson needs ‘independent’ standards adviser
The Labour party has urged PM Boris Johnson to appoint a fully “independent” standards adviser to oversee the ministers’ conduct as well as the prime ministers.
On Wednesday, Lord Geidt was announced as Boris Johnson’s new standards adviser. He will look into the funding of the PM’s renovations to his Downing Street flat.
But the Labour leader has slammed the move, saying that it was wrong that Lord Geidt needed to get the PM’s permission before carrying out the inquiry and other inquires.
