90s boyband icon, 52, looks unrecognisable as he steps out before huge gig

Take That star Mark Owen looked far from his usual self while taking a stroll in Australia ahead of a huge gig.

The 90s pop icon, 52, sported his signature long locks but hid behind a pair of black sunglasses while taking a walk in Perth.

He wore black gym gear during the outing which came ahead of the band’s huge show at the RAC Arena on Thursday – their first performance in Australia in seven years.

This Life On Tour sees the band – which also includes Gary Barlow and Howard Donald after Robbie Williams and Jason Orange’s departures – hit the stage to perform tracks from their ninth studio album as well as classics from across their career.

The band formed in Manchester in 1990 and are famed for hits such as Patience, Rule The World, Stay, Back For Good, and Could It Be Magic.

Take That has amassed a whopping 12 UK number one singles, as well as 17 top five singles and 20 that broke the top 10.

Rock DJ hitmaker Robbie, 50, left the group in 1995 and Take That split just a year later, reforming in 2005 with Robbie rejoining for a brief stint between 2010 and 2014.

Jason, 54, also left the group in 2014, leaving Take That to continue as a trio and release 2017 album Wonderland and 2023’s This Life.

Take That is set to be the subject of a new Netflix documentary that follows Williams’ self-titled doc released earlier this year.

Set to tell the inside story of the British boy band, the special will be directed by Bafta-nominated director David Soutar and produced by Gabe Turner.

It’s been confirmed that Mark, Gary, 53, and Howard, 56, will give exclusive interviews and Robbie will reportedly share insights, it’s currently unknown if Jason will participate in the project after stepping back from the public eye.

Speaking to The Sun, an inside source said the special initially would only use archive interviews from the former boy band member, but the plan has since changed.

‘There’s hope he could be persuaded to take part in the present day, which would be a real coup,’ the source said.

‘The special is still in its early stages, and Fulwell 73 has yet to formally approach him, but this could change when the project starts to take shape and the lads have managed to work their magic.’
