Mick Hucknall was snapped on a dog walk around North London and was completely unrecognisable as he covered his iconic red hair under a bucket hat.

The eighties pop star best known for being the frontman of Simply Red flew under the radar as he took his dog for a walk in a rare public appearance.

The Holding Back The Years singer wore a layered look consisting of beige trousers, a green long-sleeve t-shirt, a brown leather gilet, and a grey bucket har.

He also made sure to keep a low profile with a large pair of sunglasses that protected him from the autumn sun.

The 63-year-old popstar is known for his shocking red hair which could only be glimpsed from under his hat.

The singer was walking around Hampstead which is a hotspot for celebrities including Harry Styles, Emma Thompson, Helena Bonham Carter, Sting, Liam Gallagher and Stephen Fry – to name just a few!

At the height of his fame, it was thought that the Simply Red frontman slept with over 1,000 women – allegedly including Martine McCutcheon, Helena Christensen, Melanie Sykes, Steffi Graf and Catherine Zeta-Jones.

He previously told The Guardian: ‘When I had the fame, it went crazy. Between 1985-1987, I would sleep with about three women a day, every day. I never said no.

‘This was what I wanted from being a pop star. I was living the dream and my only regret is that I hurt some really good girls.’

However, the self-confessed womaniser has said that since settling down he ‘doesn’t miss’ his days of wild partying.

Mick told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: ‘I am a father and a husband 1730624208. And I’m still having a good time. Very, very different, yeah, but I love it.’

‘Those days are long gone. I don’t miss them. I’m in a much happier place now than I’ve ever been in my life.’

The singer is married to Gabriella Wesberry, who he tied the knot with in 2010. The pair share a daughter named Romy True Hucknall who was born in June 2007.

Simply Red are set to return to the stage with a 40th anniversary tour which launches next year in October 2025.

The UK and Ireland tour kicks off in Belfast onSeptember 23, 2025, and finishes in London with two dates in the O2 Arena.

‘Fans can expect to hear all their favourite Simply Red tracks from 1985 to the present and enjoy a memorable night celebrating the incredible journey that we’ve been on together over the past four decades,’ said Mick in the tour announcement.
