Nashawn Breedlove‘s cause of death has been revealed after he died in September 2023 aged 46.

The 8 Mile star died from acute intoxication from fentanyl, acetyl fentanyl, cocaine and ethanol, according to an autopsy report obtained by TMZ.

Nashawn’s overdose was accidental, according to the New Jersey Medical Examiner.

The report outlined some horrific details about how his body was discovered – when a neighbour noticed ‘brown fluid leaking through the ceiling into her unit’, according to the US outlet.

His body was said to have been found decomposed on a bedroom floor in his apartment after officers and the landlord forced the door open with a crowbar.

Breedlove came to fame thanks to his musical gift, rapping under the stage name, Ox.

He went on to appear on the soundtrack of The Wash, in 2001, with the track, Don’t Talk S**t.

The star was placed alongside huge names on the album, including Busta Rhymes, Xzibit, D12, Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg – with Snoop and Dr Dre also starring in the comedy.

The following year, Breedlove played Lotto in 8 Mile, who took on Eminem’s B-Rabbit in a rap battle that the latter went on to win.

Kim Basinger, Mekhi Phifer, Brittany Murphy, Taryn Manning and Evan Jones also starred in the film.

Fans were devastated to learn of his death, as they rushed to social media to pay their respects.

‘Rest in Peace Nashawn Breedlove aka “Lotto” from 8 Mile,’ one penned. ‘This the only dude that ever beat Eminem in a battle.’
