7 summer holiday destinations for Brits – You won’t need a jab, some restrictions in place
The summer holidays are on the horizon and a number of countries are getting ready to welcome British tourists back.Â
There are some places that you can go to even if you haven’t had your jab when the Uk’s ban on non-essential foreign travel lifts.Â
Here’s a list of the places you can go to even if you haven’t been vaccinated (although they might have other restrictions in place.)Â
TurkeyÂ
British tourists can travel to Turkey as soon as the UK lifts the ban and will not need to be vaccinated against covid.Â
At the present time, you need to show a negative test taken within 72 hours of travel. Turkish authorities are due to review this later in the month.Â
CroatiaÂ
Croatia is already open to tourists, whether vaccinated or not.Â
Those who haven’t had both Covid jabs will need to show proof of a negative PCR test, a negative antigen test or confirmation of recovery from Covid within 180 days.Â
You’ll need to show confirmation of accommodation and fill out an online form before you travel.Â
GreeceÂ
Greece has also reopened to tourists. Travellers who aren’t vaccinated will need to show proof of a negative Covid-19 test taken within 72 hours before travel.Â
PortugalÂ
Portugal is hoping to reopen for British tourists this summer, but there has not been any confirmation as to what restrictions would be in place.Â
It’s believed that holidaymakers will be able to enter without restrictions if they can show a recent negative covid test.Â
The Maldives
The Maldives has already reopened to international tourists and requires proof of a negative covid-19 test taken within 96 hours of travel. (This is being lifted for vaccinated travellers).Â
There are plans for the islands to offer covid vaccines to tourists on arrival if you are tempted by a longer break.Â
Mexico
Mexico has reopened for tourists – including Brits (once the UK restrictions ease). At this time, there are no requirements for testing or vaccination for international travellers.Â
BarbadosÂ
Barbados will be open for those not vaccinated but it does have requirements in place. You will need to show a negative Covid-19 PCR test taken three days before travel, using designated transport to approved accommodation and needing to stay in your room until a second negative PCR test result.Â
The second test can be taken on the fifth day of quarantine. All unvaccinated travellers will need to quarantine for 5-7 days.Â
