    2023 Women’s World Cup: The Stadiums – Melbourne Rectangular Stadium

    Melbourne Rectangular Stadium opened in 2010 and was built for sport. It is one of Australia’s premier rectangular venues and was built specifically for football, rugby league and rugby union events.

    It has hosted some of Melbourne’s biggest sporting and entertainment events and will host six World Cup games this summer, including the home nation Australia’s finale with Canada in Group B.

    The stadium is located only 2 ms from Melbourne/Naarm’s city centre. It is within walking distance of the business district.

    FIFA World Cup 2023 fixtures

    Melbourne Rectangular Stadium will host six World Cup 2023 matches, including a home-nation game. The venue’s opening match will see Nigeria take on Canada before Germany take on Morocco three days later in Group H. Jamaica-Brazil on 2 August will be the final group-stage match at the venue. 

    Two Round-of-16 clashes are set to take place at the ground, beginning with the winner of Group G taking on the runners-up from Group E, before the team that tops Group H does battle with the second-placed side from Group F.

    General Information:

    Food and beverage options will be available and can be purchased using card payments only.

    There will be a merchandise store in the precinct surrounding the stadium, backing onto Olympic Boulevard, located near Gate 8, with merchandise outlets available inside the stadium to kit yourself out and will be accepting card payments only.

    Public Gates open 2 hours prior to Kick off and we encourage you to arrive early to enjoy activations and for smooth entry into your seat.

    If you have a Hospitality ticket, your entry gates are Gates 4, 6 or 8. Staff will help navigate you to your hospitality space from there.

    If you need any assistance while at the stadium, please see any of our friendly staff or volunteers. There is also an information desk outside at Gate 1 and Gate 8 for your convenience.
