Two men shot dead in ‘targeted attacks’ in Cambridgeshire, three arrested
Following two “targeted” attacks on men in villages in Cambridgeshire, three individuals have been arrested.
Police were called to Meridian Close, Bluntisham after reports of gunshots and found the body of a 32-year-old man at the scene.
Later that evening, police were called to reports of gunshots in The Row, Sutton, and found the body of a 57-year-old man.
Three individuals are being held on suspicion of conspiracy to murder, including a 27-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman detained in Cambridge, and a 66-year-old man arrested in Worcester.
A white Peugeot 208 and a shotgun believed to have been used in the attacks have been recovered.
The areas where the incidents took place have been cordoned off, and police presence in the area has been increased.
Police have launched “two linked murder investigations” and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
While these events may be shocking to the local community, police have reassured the public that there is no wider risk to the general public.
