The Guardian – Sunak Avoids Major Rebellion Over Rwanda Deportation Bill – For Now

The Guardian also splashes on Rishi Sunak “avoiding a major rebellion” in the Commons.

The paper suggests that the more than two dozen Tory MPs abstaining in the Rwanda vote is “a blow” to Mr Sunak’s authority and that the PM faces “further peril” in the new year. It says he faces what it predicts will be “weeks of chaos as he struggles to hold together his mutinous party”.

The front page also reports Joe Biden has offered his strongest criticism of Israel so far – as he says the Israeli government is losing support. Biden says he also ramped up pressure over any future deal – insisting Israelis “can’t say no” to a Palestinian state.
