Bethany Shriever and Kye Whyte take Gold and Silver in the BMX finals
The Times says Bethany Shriever won Great Britain’s sixth gold medal of the 2020 Olympics, and Kye Whyte claimed silver, as Great Britain enjoyed a superb morning on the BMX track.
Shriever, a 22-year-old who has worked part-time as a teaching assistant to cover the costs of her training and travelling, was considered an outsider coming into the Olympics, but looked the class of the field in every round, with her fast start powering her clear to victory in all three runs of her semi-final.
