A Wisconsin woman on trial for murder and dismemberment attacked her attorney while in court on Tuesday.
Taylor Schabusiness, 25, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder, mutilating a corpse, and third-degree sexual assault stemming from an incident in February 2022.
Schabusiness is currently scheduled to go to trial in May. Her lawyer, Quinn Jolly, was asking a Brown County Circuit Court judge for more time to get her reevaluated to review whether she is competent to stand trial.

Judge Thomas Walsh agreed to Jolly’s request, and gave her another two weeks to be examined by an expert. All of a sudden Schabusiness, sitting to the right of Jolly, randomly strikes the attorney while both of her arms are still bound by her wrists.
A bailiff quickly grabs the defendant and wrestles her two the ground, but it takes another two officers to calm her down.
Moments later, Schabusiness appears fine and sits calmly on the floor.
‘You went off on your attorney, Taylor. You went crazy on your attorney,’ one of the deputies can be heard saying.

Judge Walsh quickly cleared the courtroom during the outburst, and Jolly later said he would file a motion to remove himself as Schabusiness’s defense attorney.
Schabusiness was charged for the murder of Shad Thyrion, 25, who she allegedly strangled during sex last year.
After his death, Schabusiness reportedly dismembered his body and hid the various pieces around a home and a vehicle. Police said they found Thyrion’s severed head in a bucket in the house’s basement.
She also reportedly removed an electronic, court-ordered ankle monitor just hours before killing Thyrion.
Schabusiness said both her and Thyrion were under the influence of drugs during the incident, including methamphetamines. She pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity, but she is still required to prove competency that she can understand the trial proceedings.
Schabusiness is being held on a $2million bail before her trial.
