The Independent says the mayor of London will tomorrow announce a bold emergency package to extend free school meals to every primary school child in the capital for one year, in an effort to help poorer families through the cost of living crisis.

The paper claims it as a victory for itself- the paper has its own free school meals campaign. 

The front page features a large image of Nicola Bulley and the river where a body has been found – less than a mile away from where she had been last seen.
