Prince William ‘tested positive for Covid-19 in April’

Prince William Tested positive for Covid-19 in March but kept it secret

Prince William ‘tested positive for Covid-19 in April’ around the same time as Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Prince Charles, Prince of Wales.

The exact dates when Prince William was infected is unclear. The Sun newspaper, which broke the story, said that he took a seven-day break from calls and video messages from April 9 to April 16.

Prince William kept it a secret

Prince William, second in line to the throne, kept his diagnosis private to avoid alarming the nation. The 38-year-old Prince did not tell anyone about his positive test result because “there were important things going on and I didn’t want to worry anyone”.

HRH Prince Charles tested positive for COVID-19 in March 2020 and spent seven days self-isolating in Scotland after displaying mild symptoms.

At the time, the Duchess of Cornwall tested negative for the virus and also self-isolated for 14 days.

The Prince of Wales, 71, later said he “got away with it quite lightly”. But a month later he said he hadn’t quite recovered his sense of smell and taste.

Kensington Palace, the office and home of Prince William refused to comment officially, however it is not unusual for that palace to maintain some form of privacy for the Royals.
