On Monday, Saudi Arabia’s Health Ministry confirmed 58 new deaths from COVID-19 and 3,580 new infections. These new figures bring the total COVI-19 cases to 209,509 infections and 1,916 deaths from COVID-19.

The Saudi Health Ministry also added that 1,980 have recovered from the virus, bringing the total number of recoveries to 145,236.

The Saudi health ministry on Sunday announced plans to open its Takkad coronavirus testing centres in all regions in coming days as it reported 3,580 new cases.

The ministry said 357,000 people had visited the testing centres opened so far, while another 208,000 had availed of the Tetamman clinics set up for people with Covid-19 symptoms such as sore throat sore, fever, shortness of breath and cough.

The majority of the new cases have originated in the capital Riyadh, with over 332 confirmed infections. The Capital covers a geographical area city of 600 square miles (1,550 square km). Kuwait’s new COVID-19 cases

In Kuwait, the health ministry reported 638 new cases of Covid-19 on Sunday, taking the country’s total to 49,941.

A further 520 patients recovered from the virus, while three new deaths raised the total to 368.

Qatar’s new COVID-19 cases

Qatar’s Health Ministry on Sunday announced 616 new infections of COVID-19, increasing the total number of confirmed cases in the Gulf state to 99,799.

Meanwhile, 1,897 people recovered, bringing the total number of recoveries to 92,284, while five others died, raising the fatalities to 128.

Iran’s new COVID-19 cases

The total number of COVID-19 cases exceeded 240,000 in Iran on Sunday.

Iran, the hardest-hit country by the COVID-19 pandemic in the Middle East region, reported 2,560 new cases, raising the total number of infections to 240,438.

The country also reported 163 new deaths from the virus, raising the death toll to 11,571. A total of 201,330 coronavirus patients have recovered, with 3,168 still in critical condition.

UAE new COVID-19 cases

The Ministry of Health and Prevention, MoHAP, announced on Sunday that it conducted over 41,000 additional COVID-19 tests, using state-of-the-art medical testing equipment.

In a statement, the Ministry affirmed its aim to continue expanding the scope of testing nationwide to facilitate the early detection of coronavirus cases and carry out the necessary treatment.

As part of its intensified testing campaign, MoHAP detected 683 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of cases in the UAE to 51,540.

According to the Ministry, the infected individuals are from various nationalities, are in a stable condition, and are receiving the necessary care.

MoHAP also announced two deaths as a result of COVID-19 complications. The total number of deaths in the country has reached 323, it added.
