Duffy offers up first new music since shocking rape reveal

Music-News says Duffy returns with a new song after almost a decade away from the industry. She offered up her first song since revealing she was raped and held captive during a now-deleted Instagram post. 

The 35-year-old Welsh singer uploaded ‘Something Beautiful’ for the attention of BBC Radio’s Jo Whiley, suggesting she play it on her daily show. duffy says she was raped, drugged and held captive

In a candid Instagram post, she said she had intended to offer up a spoken-word interview, detailing the ordeal that forced her away from music a decade ago. But she found it too difficult. 

“Hi Jo,” her note began. “Hope you are well and keeping safe. Wanted to send you this to play on the radio, if you want. You may have read the words I wrote a few weeks back, I do feel freer. Tried to follow up with a spoken interview, but it’s harder than I thought, I will follow up in writing soon.”

Glastonbury 50 cancelled over coronavirus

Sky News says Glastonbury Festival and the Eurovision Song Contest have both been cancelled because of the coronavirus outbreak.kendrick lamar announced as third glastonbury headliner

A 50th anniversary Glastonbury event was being planned, and the cancellation is being described as a “terrible blow to our incredible crew and volunteers”.

The music festival’s organisers have sent their “sincere apologies” to the 135,000 who had paid deposits.

They also announced 2020 will now be an “enforced fallow year” for the world-famous event.

What Hollywood is planning to do with its delayed movie releases

Screen-Rant says a new report examines what film studios are planning to do with movies that have seen their release date delayed by Covid-19. The outbreak has had a massive impact on the entertainment industry. Cinemas are shutting across the globe and several films have been indefinitely postponed. Daniel Craig returns as James Bond for one last time, in the 25th outing as 007

Films such as Fast & Furious 9 and No Time to Die have seen new release dates scheduled as far as a year away from now. However, the vast majority of them are waiting to receive one at a later point in time. 

Given the fluid nature of the pandemic, studios are hesitant to reschedule their films until they have a better understanding of when life will go back to normal. 

Because studios schedule their films years in advance, the release calendar is already full for the rest of 2020. But there are a few ways for Hollywood to work around it.

Netflix to cut streaming quality in Europe to reduce internet strain

WTX News says Netflix will reduce its video quality in Europe for the next 30 days, to reduce the strain on internet service providers. Netflix to cut streaming quality in Europe

Since large parts of Europe has been asked to self-isolate, Netflix has seen the demand for streaming increase. 

They will lower the picture quality which will reduce Netflix data consumption by 25%. But they said viewers will still have good picture quality.

The change appears to include the UK, although it has not yet been confirmed.

Blame it on Coronavirus-isolation cabin fever but the internet is keeping itself entertained by the rumour. The media mogul took to Twitter on Tuesday, saying the rumour was “an awful FAKE thing” and “NOT TRUE”.

Daniel Radcliffe praises his parents, talks substance abuse

There was, of course, a risk of the child actor going off-the-rails. But Radcliffe says staying in the UK and his supportive parents helped him stay grounded after he became famous. 

Radcliffe says he understands why other child actors have had substance issues in the years following their youthful stardom. 

Speaking on BBC Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs, Radcliffe said: “I think a huge problem for a lot of people is they get into a situation where they start doing something when they’re 10,” he told presenter Lauren Laverne.
