Afghan suicide bomber hits medical facility near US base

Aljazeera reports a suicide bombing on Wednesday targeted an under-construction medical facility near Bagram airbase north of the capital Kabul, the US military said. suicide bomber near medical base

According to reports, there was no US or coalition casualties, but a medical base being built for locals was badly damaged. 

America’s main air-base remains secure, the statement said. 

It has been reported that a US military convoy might have been the target.

The current bushfire smoke choking the city has seen health problems spike. 

Smoke alarms rang out across Australia’s biggest city on Tuesday with thick haze from bushfires burning along the country’s east coast. The haze forced buildings to be evacuated, school children to be kept indoors and ferries to be cancelled. 

After weeks bathed in toxic smoke in Sydney, hundreds of blazes have raged across the countryside. Hospitals have seen a 25 per cent spike in people visiting the emergency department.

Czech gunman opens fire in a hospital waiting room, killing 6, injuring 3 others police say

Fox News says six people were killed and three more injured when a lone gunman entered a Czech hospital Tuesday morning. 

The gunman opened fire on patients at close range before killing himself, police said. Czech gunman kills 6 in hospital

At around 7:19 on Tuesday police received reports of shots being fired inside the University hospital in Ostrava’s outpatient clinic. A few moments later law enforcement arrived on the scene, at around 7:24 am. They found four dead and “two seriously injured people.”

UK economic growth slowest since early 2009

BBC News says the economy has suffered its worst three months for more than a decade after official figures revealed output failed to grow once again in October. UK economy slowest growth since 2009

Data showed the economy flatlined month-on-month in October, after two months of declines. Meaning it was the weakest three months since early 2009. 

Although the service sector expanded 0.2% in the August-to-October period, that was offset by a contraction in manufacturing and a fall in construction. 

The ONS said there had been “a notable drop in housebuilding and infrastructure in October.”

London Bridge victim’s father accuses Johnson of capitalising on son’s death

The Guardian reports the father of Jack Merritt, who was murdered in the London Bridge terrorist attack, has criticised the prime minister for treating his son’s death as a political “opportunity.”jack's father slams the PM

As Boris Johnson sought to get his general election campaign back on track, Dave Merritt accused him of seeking to capitalise on Jack’s murder. 

In an interview with Sky News, Merritt said: “What was required was just a dignified approach, whereby the politicians would express their regrets, express their condolences to the people affected and would then get on with campaigning in the election – it wasn’t an election issue.  

“Instead of seeing a tragedy, Boris Johnson saw an opportunity, and he went on the offensive and started talking about extending the tariff for prisoners serving sentences with a maximum of 25 years.”

Juice Wrld: Guns, metal-piercing bullets and drugs found on dead rapper’s jet

Sky News says guns, metal-piercing bullets and drugs were found on the plane rapper Juice Wrld was travelling on before his sudden death. rapper had guns, bullets and drugs on jet before death

Federal agents and police were tipped off and were waiting for the private jet to land in Chicago on Sunday. 

The award-winning musician, 21, and about a dozen other people were on the plane when it landed from LA at around 2 am.

Juice Wrld fell ill shortly after touching down and was taken to hospital where he died.
