TRIBUTES PAID AFTER BBC JOURNALIST HANNA YUSUF’S DEATH AT 27

The Guardian says tributes have been paid to Hanna Yusuf, a  “wonderful” and “widely admired” BBC journalist praised Tributes paid after BBC journalist Hanna Yusuf’s death at 27for breaking boundaries with her work, who died last week at the age of 27. Her family called her a “vibrant professional who became a bridge between the media and the community.” Yusuf was born in Somalia and lived in the Neverlands and Manchester before settling in London. She spoke six languages and had contributed to The Guardian and The Independent before joining the BBC. Colleagues have paid tribute to her qualities as a journalist and as a friend. Hanna had broke stories such as the poor working conditions of Costa Coffee and Shamima Begum’s grooming by the Islamic State

WHALEY BRIDGE: CANAL AND RIVER TRUST ACCUSED OF A COVER-UP

BBC News reports The Canal and River Trust has been accused of a cover-up after it released heavily censored reports Whaley Bridge: Canal and River Trust accused of a cover-upabout the dam. In August, residents in Whaley Bridge were evacuated amid fears Toddbrook Reservoir would burst and flood the town. The inspection reports released by the Trust include large parts blacked out, citing concerns over national security. But critics say it was just an excuse. The reservoir and dam were inspected by the Trust back in November 2018. And prior to the partial collapse, residents had expressed concern over the condition and maintenance of the reservoir and dam.

IMAGE OF TODDLER PLACING EARTH ON DAD’S GRAVE RELEASED IN BID TO CUT KNIFE CRIME

The Sun reports an image of a toddler holding the end of a spade, shovelling soil on his father’s grave has been Image of toddler placing earth on dad’s grave released in a bid to cut knife crime released in a bid to prevent knife crime. The toddler’s father, Lewis was just 21 when he was stabbed to death in July. The toddler shouted “daddy” as family and friends paid their respects last week. His mum has released the image in the hopes it “stops just one person from picking up a knife or a gun.”
