BBC News says holiday firm Thomas Cook has collapsed after last-minute rescue talks failed. The UK Civil Aviation Thomas Cook collapses as last-ditch rescue talks failAuthority (CAA) said the tour operator has “ceased trading with immediate effect.” The collapse has triggered the biggest ever peacetime repatriation, aimed at bringing more than 150,000 British holidaymakers home. And 22,000 jobs are now at risk worldwide including 9,000 in the UK.

POLICE MAKE THREE ARRESTS AFTER BOY FATALLY STABBED IN SLOUGH

The Guardian reports police are investigating the fatal stabbing of a boy in Sough. Three other teenagers have been Police make three arrests after boy fatally stabbed in Slough arrested on suspicion of murder. The 15-year-old victim was stabbed in a skate park at around 6.30 pm on Saturday. A postmortem ruled the cause of death to be a stab wound to the chest.  DCI Andy Shearwood, of Thames Valley Police major crime unit, said: “I am still appealing for information about this offence, so if you have any details which could be relevant to our investigation, please call 101, quoting reference number 1240 21/9.”

LABOUR PROMISES FREE PERSONAL CARE FOR OLDER PEOPLE IN A BID TO END ‘NATIONAL SCANDAL’

The Independent says Labour is promising elderly people access to free personal care to allow them to remain in their Labour promises free personal care for older people in a bid to end ‘national scandal’ own homes. John McDonnell will unveil a $6bn-a-year commitment to help vulnerable older people with everyday tasks such as bathing, preparing food and getting out of bed. And the party said the plans would more than double the number of people receiving state-funded care.
