ELIZABETH WARREN DECRIES TRUMP AS ‘CORRUPTION IN THE FLESH’

Arab News says Democratic presidential contender Elizabeth Warren on Monday decried President Trump as Elizabeth Warren decries Trump as ‘corruption in the flesh’“corruption in the flesh.” The Massachusetts senator is a leading Democratic presidential contender. She faced thousands of cheering supporters in the nation’s largest city. And outlined her plans to root out corruption in the White House, Congress and courts. “Corruption has put our planet at risk. Corruption has broken our economy. And corruption is breaking our democracy,” she said. Her audience believed to be over 20,000 was a younger crowd, racially diverse and a lot of women. Warren has adopted corruption as the theme of her campaign from the beginning of her 2020 presidential bid. But rarely has Warren addressed such a crowd with such a symbolic backdrop.

HONG KONG LEADER SAYS PUBLIC DIALOGUE TO START NEXT WEEK

Aljazeera reports Carrie Lam said on Tuesday her administration would convene the first public dialogue sessions to Hong Kong leader says public dialogue to start next weekease political tension next week. And she has reiterated her calls for an end to the violence that started in June. Lam has said the sessions would be as open as possible and members of the public can sign up to attend. The protest that opposed the controversial extradition bill has now developed into a broader anti-government movement. The demonstrators are pushing for greater freedom and democracy in the China-ruled city. Lam has already given in to one of the core demands of the protesters’ after she announced a full withdrawal of the extradition bill. But she has said: “The problems go well beyond the bill.”

‘LOOKS LIKE’ IRAN WAS TO BLAME FOR SAUDI ATTACK, TRUMP SAYS

France 24 reports The US has readied its response to the “unprecedented” attack on  Saudi oil facilities as President ‘Looks like’ Iran was to blame for Saudi attack, Trump saysTrump said Iran was likely to blame, fanning fears of a conflict in the Gulf region. Trump has said he is ready to help Saudi Arabia after the attacks which triggered a massive leap in global oil prices. But he is waiting for a “definitive” answer to who was responsible. The US President said: “We have a lot of option.” And made clear there was no rush to react. “I’m not looking to get into new conflict, but sometimes you have to,” he said. “That was a very large attack, and it could be met by an attack many, many times larger.” Adding: “Certainly, it would look to most like it was Iran.”
