SUICIDE BOMBER DIES IN THE PHILLIPPINES; NO OTHER CASUALTIES

Arab News says a militant wearing a traditional black Muslim women’s gown was killed in a suicide bombing attack on Suicide bomber dies in the Phillippines; no other casualtiesSunday. The attack was on a military detachment in the southern Phillippines. However, the device failed to cause any other deaths or injuries. It is believed the attacker tried but failed to enter a detachment when the bomb he was carrying exploded. Because of tight security, the attacker was unable to enter the detachment. It is the third know suicide attack in Sulu this year. It has been said the militant had long hair and had a hand severed in the explosion. The hand is believed to be too large to be a woman.

IRANIAN TANKER ROW: TEHRAN SAYS TANKER REACHED ITS DESTINATION; SOLD ITS OIL

RT News reports Iranian oil tanker – Adrian Darya, formerly known as Grace 1 has arrived at its destination. The tanker Iranian tanker row: Tehran says tanker reached its destination; sold its oilwas recently released after British Marines seized the tanker suspected of breaking EU sanctions. And, upon arrival at its destination, the tanker’s cargo was sold according to the Iranian Foreign Ministry. A US official responded to the announcement by saying Washington will continue to target any individuals or states that do business with Iran’s Revolutionary Guards.

HURRICANE DORIAN: 70,000 PEOPLE LEFT HOMELESS IN THE BAHAMAS

CNN says 70,000 people have been thrust into homelessness on Grand Bahama and the Abaco Islands after Dorian hit Hurricane Dorian: 70,000 people left homeless in the Bahamasthe nation of 390,000 residents. The death toll, now 43, still unknown, one week after Dorian struck. The category 5 storm destroyed homes, schools, supermarkets, roads and airports across the northern end of the Bahamas. And now the number of those displaced is staggering. According to a history professor at Cornell University: “These 70,000 do not include the thousands who, though not technically homeless, will live in damaged homes covered only by blue plastic tarps.”
